Rachel Louise Snyder

Rachel Louise Snyder is an associate professor of literature at American University in Washington, D.C. She has been published in The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post, and The New Republic. Prior to accepting her academic position, she traveled extensively as a journalist in Afghanistan, Niger, Honduras, and Cambodia, where she spent six years reporting on gang-rape survivors, poverty, and workers’ rights. She has an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College in Boston and is the author of No Visible Bruises: What We Don’t Know about Domestic Violence Can Kill Us.
