Stephen Harrod Buhner

Stephen Harrod Buhner is a writer and herbalist who describes himself as an “independent scholar, amateur naturalist, and citizen scientist.” Along with two partners, he operates the nonprofit Foundation for Gaian Studies. He is a thoughtful and vocal critic of Western medicine and the bureaucratic and regulatory environment that has grown up around it. Over the years he has written more than twenty books with his most recent being Plant Intelligence and the Imaginal Realm: Beyond the Doors of Perception into the Dreaming of Earth.
