Shamma Esoof

Shamma Esoof lives in Puchong, Malaysia, where she works as an analyst for the World Health Organization and volunteers at animal shelters. She took this month’s cover photo, of a macaque monkey, at a lighthouse in Kuala Selangor. Though the monkeys are wild, they’re accustomed to tourists, who feed them sweet potatoes and long beans.
