Caleb Powell is a husband and father who lives in Edmonds, Washington, where he coaches his daughters’ basketball and soccer teams. His middle daughter claims she will dunk the ball one day. The Seneca Review recently published the first chapters of his nonfiction book.

Yael van der Wouden is a writer and editor who lives in Utrecht, the Netherlands. She co-founded Chaos Press, a Dutch feminist publishing house. In her off time she waters plants, walks into rooms and immediately forgets why, and reviews books for Platypus Press’s literary guide, The Wilds. Her work is set to appear in Ellipsis Zine.

His photo in this issue was taken in Durham, North Carolina, where a crowd gathered a few days after protestors had removed a Confederate statue. When the woman gave a gesture of black solidarity, the man stepped into the frame and gave a Nazi salute.
