Hal J. Daniel III is a professor of Speech, Language and Auditory Pathology and an adjunct professor of Anthropology at East Carolina University. He lives in Washington, North Carolina.

Ralph Earle operates the Carolina Bookshop in Sanford, North Carolina and teaches writing at the University of North Carolina and Central Carolina Tech. When his knees don’t act up he devotes much of his time to Hatha Yoga.

David Guy is the author of the novels Football Dreams and The Man Who Loved Dirty Books and writes book reviews regularly. He lives in Durham, North Carolina.

Kay Johnson was a poet in Berkeley who disappeared about twenty years ago.

Isaac Rodman has been a printer, a soldier, an electronics serviceman, an interpreter in New York, and a manager of dancers in Asia. He now teaches writing at Florida State University and Florida A. and M. University while writing his dissertation on American Romanticism, for the University of Massachusetts. He lives in Tallahassee, Florida.

Howard Jay Rubin is a writer who lives in Durham, North Carolina.

Sy Safransky is editor of THE SUN.

Sparrow lives in New York City. He does a lot of his writing on the subway, though “if you write on the subway, people think you’re crazy — especially if you look like me. There’s a type of Bag Person who writes an endless list of numbers, or a diary, on long rolls of paper, in very tiny print. I am mistaken for this person.”
