Erin Almond grew up in East Hartford, Connecticut, and was the lead guitarist for several all-girl metal bands you’ve never heard of. Her first novel, Witches’ Dance, was published in 2019, and she is currently working on a second.

Zoë Bossiere spent much of her childhood living as a boy in a Tucson, Arizona, trailer park. As she is a genderfluid person, her gender identity, presentation, and pronouns continue to evolve. She lives near the Oregon coast and is writing a memoir.

John Brehm’s most recent books are No Day at the Beach, a poetry collection, and The Dharma of Poetry, a book of essays. He lives in Portland, Oregon, where he and his wife, Alice Boyd, lead mindfulness retreats that explore poetry as a spiritual practice.

Emilio Carrero’s work has been published by Guernica and KROnline. This fall he hopes to befriend the elusive Swamp Ape — a Bigfoot-like creature rumored to inhabit the Southeast — as a PhD candidate in creative writing at Florida State University.

Mark Leviton has determined that, due to a typographical error, he will celebrate his seventeenth birthday this year, not his seventieth. He lives in Nevada City, California.

Miller Williams decided to study biology after his college entrance exams showed that he had “absolutely no aptitude in the handling of words.” He went on to teach English for more than thirty years, wrote twelve collections of poetry, and became an inaugural poet. He died in 2015.

Trey Burnette is a photographer and writer who lives in Southern California with his partner and their Lagotto Romagnolo puppy. His writing was recently published in a best-of collection in the Los Angeles Times.

Gina Easley is a photographer who lives in Eugene, Oregon.

Gloria Baker Feinstein’s favorite part of the day is when she gets to curl up on the couch with a chai latte and read. She lives in Portland, Oregon.

Paul Grafton’s worst habit is leaving doors open, which frustrates his wife, because “mice come in!” He lives in Morro Bay, California, where he and his wife rent out an old barn as a wedding venue.

Prescott Moore Lassman is an attorney with a master’s degree in philosophy. In college he briefly flirted with the idea of becoming a professional photographer.
