Elizabeth Rose Campbell is the former assistant editor of THE SUN. She works at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York.


Thomas Rain Crowe is a poet whose home (Peregrine Springs) is in the Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina. He is currently co-editor of Katuah: The Bioregional Journal of the Southern Appalachians, and is working on a project consisting of the identification, archiving, and legislative protection of “sacred sites” in western North Carolina and the Katuah bioregion.


Lorenzo W. Milam is the author of The Cripple Liberation Front Marching Band Blues, excerpted recently in THE SUN.


Howard Jay Rubin is a freelance writer whose work has recently appeared in New Age and Yoga Journal. He lives in Durham, N.C.


Sy Safransky is editor of THE SUN.


David Searls, a once familiar contributor to THE SUN, makes his living with Hodskins, Simone, and Searls, an advertising agency in Raleigh, N.C. He lives in nearby Durham.



John Cotterman is a typesetter, graphic designer and photographer who lives in Chapel Hill and runs Lunar Graphics.
