Here at The Sun, when we review incoming photo submissions, we’re usually looking for images that can accompany a piece of writing in a way that we hope complements and enhances the reader’s experience. Sometimes, though, we’ll find a photograph so rich with narrative that it tells a story all on its own. A new feature in the magazine, A Thousand Words is meant to be a place for just this kind of image.
Since subscribing to The Sun, I’m often frustrated that your photos are nothing like the ones I take. So I’m happy to see you’ve added a new section, A Thousand Words, to showcase photos that tell a story on their own rather than just complement a piece of writing.
