Anwar F. Accawi was raised in the mountains of southern Lebanon. He began writing to teach his children about the village where he grew up. He lives in Knoxville, Tennessee.


Poe Ballantine lives in a motel and works at a radio-antenna factory in Hays, Kansas.


Scott London hosts Insight & Outlook, a syndicated public-radio program. He lives in Santa Barbara, California.


Josip Novakovich lives in Blue Creek, Ohio, and teaches at the University of Cincinnati. His stories and essays have appeared in the New York Times Magazine, DoubleTake, Antaeus, and two Pushcart anthologies.
