Ralph Waldo Emerson was one of America’s greatest philosophers. He was part of an extraordinary spiritual renaissance in America about 100 years ago — a synthesis of Eastern and Western thought.


David Koteen lives in Umpqua, Oregon at Hearthwind, an intentional community of seven adults and six children. He is the co-founder of Children of the Green Earth, a tree-planting organization.


Les Von Losberg is a writer who lives in Brooklyn, New York. He is the co-founder of Poets Union and Poets Union Press and is an associate editor and review editor of Bitterroot Magazine.


Howard Jay Rubin has moved from Durham, North Carolina to the San Francisco Bay area. He will continue contributing regularly to THE SUN.
