Getting The Sun to people in prison

June 7, 2021

Thanks to reader support, we have sent The Sun to men and women behind bars free of charge for decades. Last year, after a generous donation from a reader, we began sending The Sun to students of Exchange for Change, a nonprofit organization that offers writing courses in prisons and facilitates letter exchanges between incarcerated students and writers on the outside. This summer they’ll release Hear Us: Writing from the Inside During the Time of COVID, an anthology of writing and artwork by incarcerated individuals, their family members, and others.

We’re grateful for the ability to offer The Sun to those in need through partnerships with organizations like Exchange for Change. If you’d like to learn more about our complimentary subscription program or other community partnerships, please contact our director of outreach, Molly House, at molly@thesunmagazine.org.

What Do You Think? Has something we published moved you? Fired you up? Did we miss the mark? We'd love to hear about it. Send Us A Letter
