Letters From Prison
I can’t know for sure what you need to do. All I’m giving you is my opinion, and you have to sort it all out and make your own decisions. But I do want to be straight with you about what my opinion is, because it’s 180 degrees from how you interpreted it. I think you should try a radical change of environment and interests. If you keep revolving your entire life around the trauma you went through, it might make good Hollywood movie stuff, but I don’t think it will meet your deepest needs.
February 1984Living With The Dying
An Interview With Dale Borglum
A lot of my work is to just stay as clear as I can, so I can be there, available and loving, but at the same time have a penetrating enough awareness that I don’t buy into the superficial sentimentality of the situation. And death, of course, is the ultimate melodrama.

On Meeting Patricia Sun
Patricia’s work in the world quickly moved from academia to a home no longer hidden: a personal partnership with anyone who cared to work with her, piece by piece, on the expansion of private politics to a global realm and the exposure of the lie that we are powerless.
January 1981Something Does Push The River
David Spangler On Community And Commitment
The Christ is the manifestation of a basketball passing through the table of our universe. It’s a multidimensional event which we are trying to grasp four-dimensionally. We would see it as history, as a succession of events. Which means that the event is still happening. It is not in history, it is history, it is still happening. We are in the midst of it at this moment. I don’t know just where we are along the basketball.
August 1980A Medical Doctor Diagnoses Reality
“There’s Nothing Out There. It’s All Happening On The Back Of Your Eyeballs.”
The suggestion coming down from the best minds in the scientific community today is that the world is crystallized thought. What you think creates your world. There’s an old Buddhist image of two mirrors facing each other — each one reflecting and creating the other. That’s the way it is with your consciousness and your physical reality.
